WordPress is what we do very very very (did we say very?) well! Somebody continues to develop website enterprise solutions using the most popular Open Source CMS in the world … WordPress. We have done so from the very start. We will continue to do so because we are die-hard supporters.

WordPress Care Plans

It is an unfortunate disaster (and a fact), many WordPress sites become less effective shortly following their launch date due to lackluster “care” efforts. Why does this happen? Well, it’s pretty simple. The web changes rapidly and without proper care, a young website can struggle to keep up. Not to mention the fact that hackers deliberately seek out older, poorly cared for websites to attack because they’re more likely to have vulnerabilities in the code that were left untended due to subpar care. Fortunately, Somebody works diligently to ensure that every website we manage experiences as few missteps as possible. We offer two proactive Word Press Care Plan options. Essential Care is for clients who need regular checkups and updates with minor website changes. How can Somebody Creative prevent WordPress website issues?

We are really really good at what we do but things happen! WordPress is a notoriously stable, open-source platform. However, WordPress is automatically upgraded to the latest version many times per year. Sometimes this creates unanticipated problems in the website, especially with Plugins. There are more than 29,000 different WordPress Plugins, and most websites have at least 20 installed. Our team will keep these Plugins updated and working to the best of our ability. We also look at potential problems with the server and code. On-going Care Plans are the best way to make sure your website stays up and running, and that everything works.

Since 2008, Somebody Creative has been building and maintaining WordPress websites of all sizes. We have seen good websites go bad due to neglect. We help prevent little problems from growing into big problems.

Are there any limitations to how often I contact Somebody Creative under either care plan?

Some webmasters only allow their clients to email them once per month or week, depending on the “maintenance plan” without incurring extra charges. Somebody Creative has no such limits! We’re here to take calls and emails from our customers as often as needed.

Are these Care Plans mandatory?

Somebody Creative is not requiring hosting clients to engage in a WordPress Website Care Plan. However, clients must understand that not keeping their WordPress website up to date can result in the website becoming vulnerable to various forms of code intrusion. This is why the consortium of developers for WordPress and associated plugins frequently update their code. WordPress sites that are not routinely updated can make AN ENTIRE SERVER vulnerable.

What happens if I choose not to engage in WordPress Website Care Plan and MY SITE GETS HACKED?

Any client that chooses not to engage in either of the care plans offered will be responsible for the regular updating of the version of WordPress and all installed plugins. The updates made available by the respective developers is done so in order to make WordPress website efficient and less vulnerable to outside threats. Any client website found to have been attacked and affected / infected with malicious code will be required to correct the issue IMMEDIATELY. Hacked websites put other website on the server in danger and must be corrected as soon as possible. Sites that remain affected / infected with malicious code more than 30 days of notification by Somebody Creative will be subject to monthly fee of $500 for the time needed to protect other sites hosted on the Somebody Creative servers. All requests for Somebody Creative to assist with or perform website code clean up or restoration will be billed at $100 per hour for time needed to correct the hacked code and or databases.

How do I submit a request for website help IF I NOTICE SOMETHING?

Support requests can be sent to support@somebody-creative.com or by giving us a call at 888.884.5584. If we don’t answer please leave a message. We will get back to you as quickly as possible (no more than 12 hours, worst case!). We will be moving to an online ticket system in the very near future. For now, we like the “personal interaction”.

Do THESE CARE plans require a contract?

Yes, all WordPress Care Plans require a one-year term contract.

What are my billing options?

You have the option of either annual or quarterly billing. Invoices are sent out at first of the month to pay for following month in advance and in October each year for yearly billing. If plan is paid for as full year option, you will receive a 20% discount for paying for the year up front. How cool is that?

Can I use the CHOSEN CARE plan for more than one website?

This plan covers Care on one website ONLY. Separate plans will need to be purchased if a client would like us to perform WordPress Care on more than one site they own.

Can I have additional help with adding content or making changes to my site included in EITHER CARE plan?

Simple answer is yes. The more complex answer is … WordPress Care Plans DO include “Client Requested Changes” up to “X” amount of hours (see Care Plans for hours). Any changes which occur AFTER the allotted hours have been used will be billed at our hourly rate of $75 per hour.

Do YOUR CARE plans include SEO?

Our Ultimate Care Plan does include some SEO. For this plan Somebody Creative follows best practices to enhance the SEO of anything we do as part of your Care Plan.

Some examples are:
— While adding images we add alt tags (alternative text for search engines and disabled users).
— We make sure your website has a good quality SEO plugin in place (Somebody Creative uses RankMath SEO).
— We make sure your site is able to be indexed by search engines.
— We add an .xml site map to help search engines spider your site.

What are my responsibilities as a client?

Your website is an important part of your business and deserves your attention too. In reality, we have several projects, clients and requests we are constantly working on. Somebody Creative is not perfect and is not on your site as much as you should be, period! Please check in on your website from time to time, and if you notice any problems submit a support email to Somebody Creative promptly. We rely on a lot of eyes to keep your site safe — often the client (or your customers) are the first ones to see a problem. Once we know about an issue, we can assist promptly.
